Shoppers do not get motivated by a crossed-out price alone. They get motivated when the page tells them, in their currency, that choosing this product was a good decision. Discount Saved Message now ships with twelve ready templates plus the message you already saved, so you can put that sentence on the product page and the cart without writing CSS.
Each template prefills the wording, the message type, the colors, and the box. You can change any field after you apply it. The product template also covers Quick Shop and Quick View. The cart template covers the cart page and the ajax cart drawer.
Pro is the plan that applies these designs. Basic ($2/month) keeps your current product message, placement, and percent or amount. Pro ($5.99/month) unlocks every template, bordered box styling, cart, checkout, thank you, and widget analytics. You can browse the designs on Basic. Applying any template except “Custom / Default” asks you to upgrade.
How to apply one
- Open the app and go to Settings. Pick the Product page or Cart page tab. Templates are set per page, so the product badge and the cart banner can differ.
- In Message templates, click a design. Text, color, font weight, and box fields fill in. The note under the grid says the fields are prefilled and still editable.
- Change the sentence if you want your own voice. The card shows a Customized badge once you leave the original wording.
- Save. If you later apply a different design, the app asks before it replaces your edits. Reset to template restores the design you selected.
Text color, font size, and box style update the preview as you edit. You do not need HTML for a simple badge. Bold and links are there if you want them on the product page or cart.
Pick a design by the feeling you want

Every template in the app
Wording below is what the template writes before you edit it. {{ amount }}, {{ percentage }}, and {{ amount_or_percentage }} are replaced on the storefront. Copy those tokens with the spaces inside the braces.
1. Custom / Default
Your saved message. Existing stores keep this so an update does not overwrite a sentence you already tuned. Product default: “You saved {{ amount_or_percentage }}”. Cart default is a bordered note with a link to keep shopping.
2. Demo Screenshot
Pale green badge with a price-tag icon. Amount only. Product: “You saved {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this item”. Cart: “You saved {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this cart”. This is the look from our marketing demo.
3. Green Badge Pro
Amount and percent together. The percent sits in a dark green pill: “You saved {{ amount }}” beside “{{ percentage }}”. Best when the sale is easier to grasp as both a dollar figure and a percent.
4. Celebration Banner
Full-width pale green bar. Product: “You save {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this item”. Cart adds a collection link: “Congratulations! You saved {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this cart.” Point that link at your sale collection.
5. Unlocked Deal
White badge, green outline. Product: “Unlocked {{ percentage }} off — you save {{ amount }}”. Cart uses the amount: “You unlocked {{ amount_or_percentage }} off this cart”. Fits automatic discounts and threshold offers.
6. Smart Choice
Soft green box with a thicker left edge. Product: “Smart choice! You're saving {{ amount }} ({{ percentage }})”. Cart: “Smart shopping — you're saving {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this cart”. Praise works well on considered purchases.
7. Bold Savings
Solid dark green, white text, no icon. Product: “Save {{ amount }} today — {{ percentage }} off”. Cart: “You're saving {{ amount_or_percentage }} — checkout now”. Use this when the page is busy and the saving has to win the glance.
8. Percent Highlight
A large percent chip, then the amount. Product: “{{ percentage }} OFF — save {{ amount }}”. Cart: “{{ percentage }} OFF applied — {{ amount }} saved”. Strong for stores that advertise the percent in ads and want the page to match.
9. Today Only
Warm amber, not alarm red. Product: “Today's deal: save {{ amount }} ({{ percentage }})”. Cart: “Today's savings: {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this cart — don't miss out”. Switch it off, or reset to Minimal Clean, when the day is over.
10. VIP Exclusive
Purple on a pale purple ground. Product: “Exclusive savings: {{ amount }} off ({{ percentage }})”. Cart: “VIP savings unlocked — {{ amount_or_percentage }} off this cart”. Use it for members, wholesale, or a code you do not advertise sitewide.
11. Compare & Save
Two lines. Product headline: “You save {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this item”, then “Compare-at price applied — add to cart to lock in savings”. Cart subline: “Keep shopping to save even more”. Clear for stores that sell on compare-at pricing.
12. Minimal Clean
Bold green text, no box and no icon. Product: “Save {{ amount_or_percentage }}”. Cart: “Saved {{ amount_or_percentage }}”. The right choice for a theme that is already designed and only needs the number.
13. Checkout Nudge
A rounded pill. Product: “{{ amount_or_percentage }} in savings on this item”. Cart: “Don't leave {{ amount_or_percentage }} behind — complete your order”. Put this on the cart when abandonment is the problem you are solving. The name describes the tone. Checkout itself still uses the plain checkout message, below.
What Pro adds around the template
A good sentence on the product page is only half the job. Pro is the plan that repeats the motivation where people actually decide:
- Cart page savings with its own template, including the drawer.
- Checkout savings in plain text, so the number is still there at payment.
- Thank you and order status, with placement in the main column, after cart lines, or after customer information. Long orders keep the full message, and you can center it.
- Box styles — background, border, radius, padding, margin, and alignment — on the product page and cart.
- Widget analytics — impressions, sessions, and savings communicated — so you can see the message was shown, then compare that with orders in Shopify Analytics.
Basic still lets you write the product message, choose percent, amount, or both, place it above or below Add to cart, shake it once, and drop decimals. If the product page is your only surface, Basic is enough. If you want the designs in this article, and the cart to agree with the product page, use Pro.
Checkout does not wear the template colors
Shopify’s checkout UI does not allow custom colors, fonts, margins, or HTML links. On the checkout and thank you tabs you still control the sentence, the message type, decimals, alignment, and Shopify’s default bordered box. Write that sentence to match the template’s idea in plain words. A cart that says “Don't leave $24.00 behind” can be followed at checkout by “You saved {{ amount_or_percentage }} on this order”.
A simple pairing that works
- Product: Green Badge Pro or Percent Highlight so the variant they selected shows both money and percent.
- Cart: Smart Choice for a calm store, or Checkout Nudge if you want the drawer to push the order forward.
- Checkout and thank you: one plain sentence with
{{ amount_or_percentage }}and the bordered box on. - Save, then view a discounted product, the cart drawer, and a test checkout before you announce the sale.
